i'm not in Australia, but I use a wheelchair and crutches. when I'm involved with kink events I want the same thing as with other events. *Detailed* information in advance about what's accessible and what's not and how it is or is not. Slopes, distances, handrails, bathroom layouts, door sizes are all useful. That includes where to eat since it sucks to be at a conference or event that's in a reasonably accessible building and then everyone goes out to dinner 10 blocks away up a giant hill in the Restaurant of a Thousand Stairs.

It is useful to mark out clear paths for access. I know that is hard at parties and crowded spaces. But being stuck in a crowd also really sucks. It is not enough to mark out reserved seating at a performance for example, there also needs to be aisles to get in and out of that seating.

Good luck and I know this is all really late advice! 8-)
